What is WebBBS?
WebBBS is, as the name implies, a Web-based bulletin board. Unlike most other such boards, though, WebBBS stores messages as simple text files and creates HTML pages "on the fly." This means that the message index can be tailored by the user based on date and/or subject (via built-in keyword search capability), and can be viewed as either a chronological or a threaded list. It also means that administration is a breeze!

What does WebBBS cost?
Nothing! There is no additional cost for your WebBBS. It is included as a standard feature with all our virtualCART accounts.

How do I set up my WebBBS?
You don't have to! When you configure your virtualCART our system will automatically create your WebBBS. It is also available for immediate use, just like your virtualCART.

What is the URL of my WebBBS?
All the WebBBS files are stored on our server. The
URL for your webBBS is:
http://www.cartserver.com/bbs/b/xxxx/index.cgi
Where xxxx is the
number of your cart. (don't include the b-)

What can I use my WebBBS for?
You can use your WebBBs for anything you want. We added this as a standard feature to virtualCART primarily as a tool to assist you in marketing your products. Some customers are using it for technical support forums, others as a way to answer FAQ's or for internal communications. Whatever you choose we are sure you will put it to good use.

How do I administer my WebBBS?
The first thing you will need to do is do is set
up your password. From the WebBBS main page click
on the link, Administrator only, found at the
top of the page. About half way down the page you
will see the change password section.
To set your password for the first time just input
your selection into the New Password box and Press
"Change Administrative Password". There is no need
to specify anything for the Old Password.
Now you will be able to delete posts from your
WebBBS that you feel are inappropriate.
